AFI is the greatest band ever. Their cover of David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" is one of my favorites things ever. And song.
I LOVE this song. And I love it just as much when Silverstein does it.
I don't like Kings of Leon. But Paramore's cover of "Use Somebody" is amazing.
I'm not a Johnny Cash fan. At all. He was a great artist, he's just not my genre. But this cover of Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt" is....yeah, just listen.

Avril Lavigne-Goodbye Lullaby Review

This CD was, by far, no Let Go, which is my favorite by Lavigne. It's definitely not her usual. The music sounds much more like Under My Skin then Best Damn Thing was. The sound was much more old Avril, excluding "Smile" and "What the Hell". I try not to criticize artists too much for changing their sound, I mean, musics all about changing and morphing into something new, right? I just wish she were going in a different direction... It's almost like she's becoming a pop princess sell-out, but if that's what she wants to be, I won't judge.
We start out with an intro song, "Black Star". Sweet piano and even sweeter lyrics morph this song into a great start to a pop-rock CD. "What the Hell" and "Alice" are the only tracks on the CD not about a relationship. So if you're looking for a good end of relationship CD, this one's good one. "Not Enough", "Everybody Hurts", "Wish You Were Here", "Remember When" and "Goodbye" are all about break-ups and leaving and love dying. "What the Hell" is about just saying screw it all and having fun. "Push" is about a relationship that is dying, but deserves to live. It just needs time. "And you know when push comes to shove/It's gonna take the both of us/Baby this is love." "I Love You" is the sweetest song on there. "You're so beautiful/But that's not why I love you/ I'm not sure you know/ That the reason I love you is you". This is the song I'd recommend you go download. The CD is finished with "Alice", Lavigne's contribution to the latest Alice in Wonderland movie's soundtrack.
I'm not quite sure if this CD is supposed to be a break-up CD, or a let's fix our relationship CD.... It's definitely a relationship CD, regardless of the relationship's position. If you're in love, going through a hard time in your relationship, or just looking for some good modern love songs, definitely check out this CD. Fans of Lavigne will be pleased to hear it's much more like Let Go then Best Damn Thing.

So, I'm REALLY big on chick singers. I LOVE them. And Avril Lavigne is one of my favorites. Her new CD, "Goodbye Lullaby" may not be her best, but it's still amazing. This is one of my favorites off of it. Enjoy.

Jamie's First Ramble (on this blog, Not ever. Jamie has rambled many, many, many times. Jamie is a rambler. Just like how she's rambling ((in 3rd person, which is just weird)) in this blog tite. Deal.): Intro and Holiday Music
Haha, sorry, Jess, I think I just lost all our potential readers with that title. I'm just awesome like that.
So my name is Jamie (duh). I'm obsessed with music, books, bad movies (and some good, but mostly bad), and rambling. I really love to write, like REALLY love to write. Music is quite possibly my favorite thing to write (ramble) about along with books, hence this blog (that, and Jess wanted to do a music blog, but wanted a partner. Yay me!) Anyway, on to my ramble.
So it's getting cold outside. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY cold. It's too cold in my opinion. And yes, it's only 50 degrees outside. The cold sucks. It sucks hard. (TWSS!) The only thing I like about cold weather is hot chocolate and hoodies. I don't like long pants. I don't like having to wear closed toed shoes. I don't like having to go to Mass with my mom's family (I don't mind church, I mind Mass. There's a difference. Trust me.) And I ESPECIALLY don't like holiday music. AT ALL. Every year it seems like every other artist and their mother has to come out with a Christmas, or just holiday, album. And every year it's all the SAME songs, the SAME sound....just different voices and genres. They all use the same music. They all sing the same music. And they all annoy the $#!+ out of me. I just don't get it.
Especially when rock artists go do it! It's like....WHY!? All year long they have this "I don't give a f**k attitude".....and Christmas music has got to be the BIGGEST contradiction to that. Especially when the screamo bands do it. No offense to anyone, but there's nothing funnier then a guy in black make-up, skinny jeans and snake bites is screaming, "We wish you a merry Christmas". Biggest. Contradiction. Ever.
Now don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, and the holidays in general. I just....don't like holiday music.
It drives me frickin nuts. It doesn't help that the day after Thanksgiving the radio plays it nonstop.... Reason #24,957 to stop listening to the radio.
